There is a new blog that is worthy of a link. It is called Evolution News & Views. It is sponsored by the Discovery Institute.

The stated purpose is ...

The misreporting of the evolution issue is the focus for the new blog Evolution News & Views, www.evolutionnews.org, maintained by Discovery Institute’s Center for Science & Culture (CSC).

“The legacy media seem to have rediscovered the evolution controversy with the recent lawsuits in Pennsylvania and Georgia,” says Rob Crowther, CSC director of communications. “The problem is that many reporters are sadly uninformed about the issue which has resulted in much of the news coverage being sloppy, inaccurate, and often overtly biased.

“There’s nobody else in the blogosphere right now holding the media accountable for how the debate over evolution is reported,” added Crowther. “We think that Evolution News & Views will do just that.”

All I can say is, it is about time. I am all for a healthy discussion about design theory versus *apparent design* theory (i.e. evolution). What I find troubling is that most who attack design are attacking cartoonish caricatures fed to them by the legacy media. My hope is that many will link to this blog and help clear up the prattle that is continuously propagated by the old media about this important discussion. Perhaps then we will see some substantive debate begin.
