In the wake of last week’s shooting at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado, the women’s health organization called for a national show of support for reproductive healthcare Saturday. This “National Day of Solidarity” will center on rallies in Washington and Colorado, with smaller events scattered across the country, according to the group’s website. Supporters also showcased solidarity on social media by using the hashtag #StandWithPP and adding pink filters to their profile pictures. The Jesus myther thing is funny. They wanted to be totally sure they wouldn't go to hell so they convinced themselves Jesus just didn't exist. Actually they got the idea from 18th and 19th century people such as Bruno Bauer who did not have benefit of more recent scholarly developments. It was an age of unbelieving super liberal scholarship where thinkers like Von Harnack were more common and believing scholars like Lightfoot and Wescott were less common. The atheists propaganda machine is at it again. Another spate of articles based loosely upon a Pew study talking about Christianity is in decline. As I write it is Nov. 3,2015. They are still failing to distinguish between affiliation and belief in God. The Pew Study says belief in God is holding steady what is declining is affiliation with organized religion. The amalgamation none as "none" (as in religious affiliation: none) is what is growing and while those do include atheists they are not the majority in the category. First let's look at the propaganda. Friendly Atheist Blog says "the momentum is with us." He's talking about the results of a Pew study that follows up the 2014 follow up to the 2009 follow up to the 2007 study. At one point in my life, I thought that soap operas were the most mindless thing on afternoon television. That was saying a lot, given that some of the competition for soap operas were afternoon children's programs. (My personal favorite was "Lighthouse Looey," a show so completely obscure that I can't even find mention of it using a Google search, but that's neither here nor there.) But today, a show that is so stunning in its mindlessness has surpassed even the most braindead of soap operas -- The View. Now, The View is an easy target. Five extremely politically-liberal women (actually, four extremely politically-liberal women and usually one conservative for contrast) sitting around a table trying to discuss politics and other items, but very little of what they say is worth the time that it takes to say it. Now, I don't mind them sharing their thoughts between themselves, but what I find most amazing is that they have an audience who watches this drivel....

I love it when atheists attempt to use logic to argue against Christianity. The only problem is that too much of what passes for logic on the Internet is actually emotional haranguing cloaked in the veneer of logic. Under this “logic,” Jesus didn’t rise from the dead not because it was logically impossible, but because it grinds against the preconceived notions of the alleged logician. When using logic and using it correctly, one has to throw out preconceptions and actually look at the arguments to determine whether they are sound and valid. This is one reason I actually appreciate a post that recently appeared on The Secular Outpost by Keith Parsons entitled “ Jesus End: The Formal Possibilities .” In the post, Mr. Parsons provides a series of dichotomies similar to the Kalam Cosmological Argument where the choices are either one or the other. Bradley Bowen of Secular Outpost, argues William Lane Craig can't prove that Jesus died on the cross. His ultimate goal is to negate Craig's proofs of the resurrection, he does that by arguing that there is no proof that Jesus died on the cross. No death = no resurrection. There's a secondary issue of interpreting a Bible scholar whose works we used at Perkins (Luke Timothy Johnson), I'll deal with that in part 2. My point here is to argue that Jesus' death on the cross is well warranted for belief. That is the only point with which I will concern myself. Moreover, I will not defend Craig but come at it from my own perspective. Bowen points out that Craig assumes that scholarly acceptance (of Jesus' death) proves the evidence for it is strong. He then argues that this is not proof that the evidence is strong, he then argues that Funk and Johnson doubt it.
